Mark Schulze and Patty Mooney’s partnership in both Crystal Pyramid Productions and New & Unique Videos is rooted in their serendipitous encounter on Valentine's Day of 1982. Since then, the married couple have together shaped San Diego's video production landscape. Mark, serving as President, DP, and Producer, founded Crystal Pyramid Productions, San Diego’s longest-serving video production services company, after graduating from UCSD, in 1981. His visionary approach to production, demonstrated through early innovation of technologies like the first helmet camera (1987), has earned him recognition as a three-time "Top 100 Producer." Mark and Patty's commitment to community and philanthropy is evident in their pro bono projects for non-profit organizations including the multi award winning documentary “The Invisible Ones: Homeless Combat Veterans” now featured at Red Coral Universe. Together, the couple produced the world's first instructional massage video, "Massage for Relaxation," first instructional mountain-biking video, “The Great Mountain Biking Video,” and multi-award-winning mountain-bike travel adventure, "Full Cycle: A World Odyssey" which took them on a mountain-bike travel adventure to nine different countries for a year and a half in search of the world’s greatest trails. Although “Full Cycle” amassed many awards at film festivals – it clinched a Silver Hugo at Chicago International Film Festival, a Silver Award at Charleston International Film Festival, and won a New York International Film Festival Award - it’s never been seen on television until now, as it enjoys its world premiere on Red Coral Universe. In addition to commercial successes, Patty has shot, produced, and edited a series of socially conscious videos, including "Golden Hour: First Mt. Everest Mountain Bike Rally," and "Peace Out San Diego," which have garnered international recognition and many awards. The couple’s latest endeavors focus on the medicinal capabilities of Cannabis. Award-winning “Fighting Cancer with Cannabis,” and "Nectarball: The Story of Cannabis," delve into the cultural, medical, and economic impact of cannabis legalization. "CannaMinutes," features luminaries discussing cannabis in a minute or less. “Ed: The U.S. Government vs. Ed Rosenthal, 2003” and “12 Black Cannabis Visionaries” will be coming to your screen this year. You can access CannaMinutes and “Fighting Cancer with Cannabis” on Red Coral Universe. “Nectarball: The Story of Cannabis” will be coming to RCU soon. Through their collaborative efforts, Patty Mooney and Mark Schulze continue to push the boundaries of filmmaking, combining their expertise, creativity, and passion to craft compelling stories that resonate with audiences globally. Patty's pioneering contributions to sports and entertainment were recognized by San Diego Magazine's "People's Choice Award" in 2023, underscoring her enduring impact on the industry and commitment to innovation. San Diego Business Journal honored Patty as one of 50 Women Innovators over 50. XCorps Television calls Patty the “Grandmother of Extreme Sports Videos.” Mark and his Nectarball Collection have recently been featured in a full-page San Diego Magazine story published in April 2024.
