Story: My name is Richie Watson aka The Rich October. My whole life I have been raised around music. I started playing the drums when I was 3yrs old and the guitar around 11 years old. I was always forming bands with my friends and wanting to become successful in music. One day I remember sitting at the Thanksgiving table with my family and thinking to myself about what I wanted to be. It was a Producer. I did not know what that meant but that was what I wanted to do. I stuck to my plan as time went on. My freshman year of High School I learned how to use FL Studio and started making beats. I was also in one of the Best Band / Orchestra Programs in SW Florida, 'The Pride Of Port Charlotte'. Since 1990 they have had the honor to play in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and The St. Patrick's Day Parade for 2 decades. In 2010 I was a percussionist in the highest-level band program held at my High School. After I auditioned I flew from Florida to New York City, and I played at Carnegie Hall. 'Getting Money Regardless' is a motto and record label originally started by me and my good friend Dion Evans, who is from New Bern, NC. We created 3 mixtapes in a 2 yr span completely produced by me and recorded and written by him. Our first was called 'RAWBeatz In My Trunk'. In 2015 I took my first trip to New York, and it changed my whole life. It helped me take another step in my musical journey. Rowdy Rebel had a lot of artists from Brooklyn, and they began to recognize me for my unique sound. I knew I had my foot in the door finally... I knew my vibe and my style of beats. Currently I am working on my own self-produced debut Indie Rock Album called 'The Rich October'. The music I make is different. I have always liked doing what everybody else is NOT. I enjoy going against the grain. 'GMR' in the next few years will be a legitimate record label that will help give artists a real platform to creatively be yourself and make a living doing it.
