Sonni Slim

My name is Sonni Slim and I'm excited to share my story with you. In 2021, I made the life-changing decision to move from Washington DC to Livingston, Guatemala, to live among the Garifuna people on the Caribbean Coast. It's been an incredible journey so far, filled with new experiences and opportunities to learn and grow. As l've immersed myself in Garifuna life, l've had the privilege of documenting many aspects of their culture and traditions. From their vibrant music and dance to their delicious cuisine and unique spiritual practices, l've been captivated by the richness and diversity of this community. But my time in Guatemala has also been a journey of self-discovery. Living among the Garifuna people has taught me so much about myself and my own dreams. And now, I want to invite you to join me on my adventures through LaBuga and beyond, as we explore more of this beautiful country together, so come along for the ride.
