Singer J

SINGER J, whose given name is OMAR LATTIBEAUDIERE from Kingston, Jamaica started singing at an early age. The name Singer J was given to him by a friend at Hellshire Beach in Kingston Jamaica.

Singer J grew up with his father in the vicinity of Waterhouse where he attended Denham Town primary School then later moved to Portmore to be with his mother Lorna or more popularly known as ‘’MAMA LORNA’’ while he attended Tivoli Gardens High School. It was there and then Singer J started to develop a greater love for music.

Although he began singing at a tender age, he became more inclined and attentive, listening and singing to every rhythm he could put a song to. Music has now become an inborn concept for the artist, and many may not know that he is the nephew of the very popular BOB ANDY, one of Jamaica’s most outstanding reggae singers. The singer was so inspired by his uncle’s music that it motivated him to be just as good as his uncle was.

Singer J did his first recording at the age of eighteen with a song entitled ‘’WAVE YOU HAND’’, a collaborative effort with Elephant Man for recording producer and his then mentor Q45. That connection started a team family bond, and it served notice to the industry that there is a brand-new talent to be reckoned with. Since then, he has won the hearts of many fans all over the world and has made a household name for himself in dancehall.

Singer J further went on to collaborate with some of Jamaica’s best corner stones of dancehall like the Internationally acclaimed ‘’BEENIE MAN’’, MAD COBRA, BUJU BANTON and that’s just a few names. Singer J has journeyed almost all of the United States booking tours and has been requested for shows in places like, SOUTH AMERICA, ARGENTINA, CHILE, EUROPE, JAPAN and of course the CARIBBEAN.

Promoters in the USA have been securing his services for performances on club dates as well as major Reggae Festivals. He has earned the reputation of ‘’ MR EXCITEMENT’’ with his signature phrase ‘’ TWEEDLE DEE’’.

Singer J linked up with longtime friends Benji and Engine Gear who operated and engineered at Frenz For Real recording studio. There Singer J found a renewed energy and dispensed hits after hits inclusive of “WITHOUT YOU LORD”, produced by Luv Number One and “CAN’T STOP ME NOW”. These two songs generated a massive following for the artist both locally and overseas.

Since 2019 he revamped his fan base and released Prayer, Life Is a Battlefield, Never Born Weak and Good Good. Currently in 2023 Singer J released Jah Guide and Lift Me Up Cover. The singer remains a crowd pleaser with his silky silhouette voice.
