Paul Muni was a multi-award winning American stage and film actor who was a five-time Academy Award nominee, with one win.
He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performances in I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932), Black Fury (1935), The Story of Louis Pasteur (1936), The Life of Emile Zola (1937) and The Last Angry Man (1959)
He made 22 films and won the Academy Award for Best Actor for The Story of Louis Pasteur (1936). He also starred in numerous Broadway plays and won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for Inherit the Wind.
