Griffin “The” Hansen
Griffin “The” Hansen
Interested in animation from an early age, Hansen began interviewing animators from his bedroom at the age of only fifteen to help raise money for his friend's cancer treatment. The interview series, "Cartoons VS Cancer" (2015-2019), would prove wildly popular, and episodes have been archived by ASIFA-Hollywood and the CalArts Digital Library. The show would be briefly rebooted in 2020 as "Cartoons VS COVID" (2020) to raise money for healthcare workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Hansen is also known as a director, writer, and occasional actor for "Ben Price Hunts the Haunted: Starring Ben Price" (2020) , "Together is Better" (2021), “Something’s in Plains” (2023) , and the acclaimed “Within the Crystal Hills”. Hansen also serves as the founder and president of the Animation Education Association (AEA), which aims to honor the legacies of important animated filmmakers across North America. In 2023, Hansen graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in animation. While here, he also worked on award-winning films such as "Missing in the Midwest" (2023) and "Flower Die First" (2023). “The Ten Commandments of Banquet Serving” is based on his years of experience working in banquet serving and management!
